First steps

The first step is to give me a call or send me an email. We will then fix an appointment as soon as we can. The initial session is a chance for us to get to know each other and for you to tell me what brings you to counselling. It will be a space for you to ask any questions you may have about me or the counselling process and I’ll do my best to answer these. You will get a sense of how we may work together and what it’s like to sit with me.

What next?

If you decide to go ahead with further sessions, we will meet once a week at the same time. We may initially agree to meet for a fixed number of sessions – usually six or eight – to see how that works out. You may then decide to continue in open-ended therapy. We will regularly review how we’re working together as part of the therapeutic process.

Speaking about what you’re going through with someone who’s trained to offer support can really help.
